Paul McCartney hopes to finish a new album in 2025. The iconic singer-songwriter revealed his New Year's Resolution while answering fan questions on his official website.

“I’ve been working on a lot of songs, and have had to put it to the side because of the tour,” Macca explained. “So, I’m hoping to get back into that and finish up a lot of these songs.”

“So, how’s about that?" he continued. "‘My New Year’s resolution is to finish a new album!'”

His last album was 2020's McCartney III. In 2023, The Beatles released their final song "Now and Then."

McCartney recently admitted that it makes him "very emotional" to perform the track, which he first played live on October 1.

“It’s really great. When you introduce a new song, even though it’s an old song, like ‘Now and Then’, the first reaction is, people aren’t quite sure what it is or what you’re doing," he said in an interview. “But during the run of the concerts, they get the idea. The word gets out on the internet, you know. So now the reaction is really strong, and for us it’s great to play because it’s a nice song to play, and for me, it’s particularly great because it’s a John song. And so it’s very emotional for me. I love it. I love doing it, and the audience seems to love it too.”

"Now and Then" was originally recorded as a demo by John Lennon in 1977, features guitar recorded by George Harrison in 1995, and was finished by McCartney and Ringo Starr in 2022.

Starr and McCartney reunited for the final show of the Get Back 2024 tour on December 19. Together, the played The Beatles' "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (reprise)" and "Helter Skelter."
