The Indiana Department of Transportation has announced several lane and ramp closures on Interstate 465 this week. These closures are part of the ongoing I-69 Finish Line project, which aims to connect Indianapolis and Evansville.

Starting on or after Friday, I-465 southbound lanes on the southeast side of Indianapolis will have ramp and lane closures. The construction is expected to last about three weeks. During weekdays, traffic on I-465 southbound will be reduced to three lanes between 46th Street and the I-465/I-70 interchange. On weekends, traffic will be reduced to two lanes.

The following ramps will also be closed starting at the following dates and times: I-70 eastbound and westbound to I-465 southbound (7 p.m. May 31); Washington St./U.S. 40 eastbound and westbound to I-465 southbound (9 a.m. May 31); Brookville Road / U.S. 52 eastbound and westbound to I-465 southbound (9 a.m. May 31); Shadeland Avenue southbound to I-465 southbound (9 a.m. June 1); Southeastern Avenue / Old U.S. 421 to I-465 southbound (9 a.m. June 1); I-74 westbound to I-465 southbound (9 a.m. June 1); Emerson Avenue northbound and southbound to I-465 westbound (9 a.m. June 1); and Pendleton Pike eastbound and westbound to I-465 southbound (9 p.m. May 30).

The official detour for this work is I-465 southbound to I-70 westbound to I-65 southbound. Motorists are also reminded to visit 511in.org to map their route. Lane and ramp closures are expected to be removed by the end of June.
