A disturbing trend has been developing for several years and seems to be picking up steam, especially among the famous; suicide. A report from Los Angeles today tends to support the unfortunate situation.
The death of actor Verne Troyer, star of "Austin Powers" has been declared a suicide, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner's office said Wednesday.
According to the coroner's office, Troyer, died in April from sequelae of alcohol intoxication. Sequelae is a condition that was the consequence of a previous disease or injury.
Read the statement released by Troyer's representatives following his death:
"Verne was also a fighter when it came to his own battles. Over the years he's struggled and won, struggled and won, struggled and fought some more, but unfortunately this time was too much," read the statement. "Depression and Suicide are very serious issues. You never know what kind of battle someone is going through inside. Be kind to one another. And always know, it's never too late to reach out to someone for help."
He was 49.
