Indiana School Bus Driver Arrested - Letting Kids Drive Bus

This falls in the grey area of really cool bus driver, or absolutely insane bus driver! The police have decided it’s the latter.

A school bus driver in northwest Indiana has been busted and placed under arrest after she allegedly let three different students, ages 11, 13 and 17 drive the bus, according to police. The incident was captured on video and posted on Twitter.

According to a police, Joandrea McAtee, 27, let the children drive her bus last Thursday as she dropped students off after school let out in Valparaiso, Indiana.

Reports say, McAtee, was arrested Friday after the Porter Township Schools Administration and the Porter County Sheriff's Office received a parent's complaint.

"The Porter Township School Corporation is angered and disappointed in the actions of this driver," Stacey Schmidt, the Porter Township School Corporation superintendent, said in an email to a local paper. "The safety of our students is a top priority."

McAtee was arrested when she went to pick up her paycheck, according to a news release. She is facing charges of neglect of a dependent, a felony, and was fired by Porter Township and the bus service provider.
