The head varsity golf coach at Greenwood High School was arrested on felony drug charges this week.
The arrest resulted from a drug investigation including the Indiana State Police, Columbus Police Department, and the Bartholomew County Sheriff's Department. On Tuesday, police pulled over two vehicles. The driver of one of the vehicles, 37-year-old Benjamin L. Beatty, Columbus, is the head varsity golf coach at Greenwood High School.
Beatty was arrested on preliminary charges of dealing methamphetamine, dealing heroin, possession of methamphetamine, possession of heroin, just to name a few.
According to the Indiana State Police, Beatty resisted the trooper and was detained at the scene.
